Zuplenz Drug Interactions

Using medications such as apomorphine, tramadol, or carbamazepine in combination with Zuplenz may lead to negative drug interactions. Some of these reactions can alter the amounts of the medications in your blood, possibly decreasing the effectiveness of the drugs or causing potentially dangerous side effects. In some cases, your healthcare provider may need to adjust the amount of your dosage.

The following sections explain in detail the potential problems that can occur when Zuplenz is combined with any of the drugs mentioned above.
 
 
Apomorphine
Taking Zuplenz in combination with apomorphine may cause dangerously low blood pressure (hypotension) and loss of consciousness. These two medications should not be taken together.
 
Carbamazepine
Taking Zuplenz in combination with carbamazepine can decrease the level of Zuplenz in your blood. For most people, this interaction will not cause any problems and the doses of these medications do not need to be adjusted.
