Zortress Blood Level Monitoring

Zortress® (everolimus) is a medication prescribed to help prevent organ rejection after someone has had a kidney transplant. This medicine is used in combination with certain other anti-rejection medications and is typically started as soon as possible after the transplant.

Typically, the initial dose of Zortress is 0.75 mg twice a day. However, your healthcare provider will need to carefully monitor your blood levels of Zortress, so he or she can adjust your dosage of the medicine as needed. The recommended Zortress blood level is 3 to 8 nanograms per milliliter (ng per mL). If your blood levels are outside of this range, your healthcare provider may adjust your dose every four to five days, until you have the recommended amount of the medicine in your blood.
