Zofran Generic

The patent for Zofran recently expired, making it available to be manufactured in a generic form. Several strengths of generic Zofran are available, ranging from 4 mg to 8 mg. The drug also comes in the form of orally disintegrating tablets, oral solution, and injection. Some of the manufactures that make a generic version of this drug include Teva Pharmaceuticals, Kali Laboratories, and Baxter Healthcare.

Can I Get Generic Zofran?

Zofran® (ondansetron hydrochloride) is a prescription medication that has been licensed to prevent nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.
 
Zofran was first manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline. Recently, Zofran has come off patent, making generic versions available.
 

Strengths of Generic Zofran

Generic Zofran is available in the following strengths and forms:
 
  • Ondansetron 4 mg tablets
  • Ondansetron 8 mg tablets
  • Ondansetron ODT 4 mg orally disintegrating tablets
  • Ondansetron ODT 8 mg orally disintegrating tablets
  • Ondansetron oral solution 5 mg per 5 mL (one teaspoon)
  • Ondansetron injection.
