Can I Take Zofran If Pregnant?

Many people may wonder if pregnant women can take Zofran. Based on the results of animal studies, Zofran® (ondansetron hydrochloride) is generally considered safe for women who are expecting.

Since animals do not always respond to medicines the same way that humans do, however, Zofran should only be given to a pregnant woman if her healthcare provider believes that the benefits outweigh any possible risks to the unborn child.

If you are pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant, let your healthcare provider know. He or she will consider both the benefits and potential risks of pregnancy and Zofran before making a recommendation for your particular situation.
