Ziv-Aflibercept Side Effects

Common Side Effects

Ziv-aflibercept has been studied extensively in clinical trials. In these studies, the side effects that occurred in a group of people who received ziv-aflibercept plus standard chemotherapy were carefully documented and compared to those that occurred in a similar group of people given a placebo (an injection that does not contain any active ingredients) plus standard chemotherapy.
As a result, it was possible to see what side effects occurred, how often they appeared, and how they compared to the placebo. In these studies, the most common ziv-aflibercept side effects included:

  • Difficulty speaking, such as a hoarse voice
  • An increase in serum creatinine, a measure of how well the kidneys are functioning

  • Shortness of breath
  • Redness, swelling, or pain on the palms of the hands or soles of the feet
  • Dehydration
  • Sore throat
  • Darkening of the skin
  • Runny nose
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Rectal pain.
