If you combine
Zevalin® (
ibritumomab) with blood thinners, you may have an increased risk for serious and potentially life-threatening bleeding problems. Some examples of medications that thin the blood are anticoagulant or antiplatelet medicines, such as:
- Heparin
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
- Thrombolytics
- Warfarin.
If your healthcare provider recommends using a blood thinner while receiving Zevalin, he or she will closely monitor your platelet count and watch for signs of bleeding.
