Zanosar Drug Interactions

Zanosar Drug Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Zanosar is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Amphotericin B
Combining amphotericin B with chemotherapy medicines, including Zanosar, may increase the risk for amphotericin B side effects, such as kidney damage, low blood pressure (hypotension), and breathing problems. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely if you use these medicines together.

Certain Immunosuppressant Medicines
Using Zanosar in combination with certain medicines that suppress the immune system could increase your risk for potentially serious side effects, including low blood cell counts and infections. Some of these combinations should not be used together, while others may require careful monitoring or adjustments in your medication doses.

Clozapine
Taking clozapine with Zanosar can increase your risk for dangerously low white blood cells, which could make you more susceptible to potentially serious infections. Talk to your healthcare provider before using these medicines together. However, do not stop taking clozapine unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Doxorubicin
Zanosar may increase blood levels of doxorubicin, and potentially increase your risk for severe bone marrow depression (when the bone marrow does not make adequate amounts of blood cells). If you take doxorubicin, your healthcare provider may need to reduce your dose during Zanosar treatment.

Echinacea
Echinacea may decrease the effectiveness of Zanosar. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these products together.
