Velcade Side Effects

Serious Side Effects

Some side effects of Velcade are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
 
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
 
    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
 
  • Signs of an infection, such as:
 
 
  • Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting
  • Numbness, tingling, pain, or burning feelings in the hands or feet
  • Arm or leg weakness
  • A rash or skin reaction at the injection site
  • Shortness of breath, new or worsening cough, or difficulty breathing
  • Swelling of the legs, ankles, or feet
  • A persistent headache
  • Changes in vision, such as reduced or blurred vision
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Seizures
  • Signs of anemia, such as:
 
    • Unusual tiredness
    • Weakness
    • Pale skin
    • Shortness of breath
 
  • Black, tarry, or bloody stools
  • Unusual bleeding or bruising
  • Persistent nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, especially if you cannot keep fluids down or stay hydrated
  • Yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes (jaundice).
 

Final Thoughts

You may experience some or none of the side effects listed in this article. Unfortunately, there is no way for your healthcare provider to know beforehand if you will have problems with a medicine that you have never tried.
