Uterine Cancer PrognosisA prognosis is a medical opinion as to the likely course of a disease. In cases of uterine cancer, the prognosis may be affected by such factors as the stage of the cancer, how the cancer cells appear under a microscope, and whether the cancer cells are affected by progesterone. The doctor may speak of a favorable prognosis if the cancer is likely to respond well to treatment. The uterine cancer prognosis may be unfavorable if the cancer is likely to be difficult to control. It is important to remember that a prognosis is only a prediction; doctors cannot be absolutely certain about the outcome for a particular patient.
