Drug Interactions With Triptorelin

Prior to receiving triptorelin, tell your healthcare provider if you are taking any other medications, such as reserpine, glimepiride, or an antidepressant. Drug interactions with triptorelin could affect how your body handles your medications, and a dosage adjustment may be necessary. Due to the risk of interactions, triptorelin may not be your best choice if you are taking a medication that increases prolactin levels.

An Overview of Triptorelin Interactions

Triptorelin pamoate (Trelstar®) may react with a few other medications. Some of the drugs that may lead to interactions with triptorelin include but are not limited to:
 
  • Medications that cause hyperprolactinemia (increased prolactin levels), including:
     
 
 
 
  • Medications used to treat diabetes, including:
     
    • Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, such as:
 
 
 
    • Glitazones and glitazone combination medications, such as:
 
 
    • Glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists, such as:
