Thyroid Cancer ResearchCurrent research on thyroid cancer includes work being done to find better ways to diagnose and treat the disease. Researchers are studying new ways to diagnose thyroid cancer before it has spread. For example, researchers have found a protein in the blood that may be an early marker for the cancer. Research is also being conducted on new types of surgery, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, radioactive iodine treatment, and different combinations of these treatments.
