Older adults can use Temodar. However, there were not enough people aged 65 and older in clinical trials to determine if older adults respond differently to the medicine than younger age groups.

In one study, people 70 years of age and older appeared to have a greater risk for significantly low white blood cell counts (which increases the risk for infection) and decreased platelets (which could increase the risk for bleeding). Thus, older adults may need to be monitored more closely during treatment.
