Stomach Cancer Surgery (Cont.)

Recovering From Stomach Cancer Surgery

The time it takes to heal after stomach cancer surgery is different for each person. Before surgery, patients should discuss the plan for pain relief with their doctor or nurse. After surgery, it is normal for patients to feel tired or weak. Patients may also experience constipation or diarrhea. These symptoms can usually be controlled with dietary changes and medicine. Your healthcare team should watch for signs of bleeding, infection, or other problems that may require treatment.
