Adult T-cell Lymphoma and Romidepsin
A healthcare provider may prescribe romidepsin (Istodax®) for the treatment of T-cell lymphoma in adults age 18 and older. It is designed for people who have undergone at least one other form of chemotherapy treatment and have either cutaneous T-cell lymphoma or peripheral T-cell lymphoma.
When used for treating these types of adult T-cell lymphoma, romidepsin is thought to work by interfering with important proteins involved in gene expression -- the process by which the information contained in genes is interpreted. It may stop cancer cells from reproducing and cause cell death.
