Procrit® is a prescription drug that is used for treating anemia due to chemotherapy, chronic kidney failure, or zidovudine (an HIV medication). People with anemia can also take Procrit before surgery to decrease the need for blood transfusions. The drug can be given as an injection under the skin or by IV. Side effects of Procrit may include fever, vomiting, fatigue, and constipation.
