Pentostati

If you have a rare form of cancer called hairy cell leukemia, your healthcare provider may prescribe a chemotherapy drug called pentostatin (Nipent®). The medication is approved for use in adults only, and works by slowing down the growth of cancer cells.
 
Pentostatin comes as a powder that is mixed with liquid and injected into a vein (intravenously, or by IV) once every other week. Your dosage will be determined based on your weight and height, how you respond to the drug, and other factors.
