Drug Interactions With Pazopanib

Certain vaccinations, echinacea, and even grapefruit juice may cause reactions with pazopanib. Drug interactions with this medication can lead to serious complications, such as infections, blood cell problems, and kidney problems. Some interactions can also alter the effectiveness of your medications. To reduce your risk, let your healthcare provider know about any other medications, vitamins, or supplements you are taking before beginning treatment with pazopanib.

An Overview of Pazopanib Interactions

 Pazopanib (Votrient®) may react with several other medications. Some of the drugs that may interact with pazopanib include but are not limited to:
 
  • CYP 3A4 inducer medications, such as:
 
 
  • CYP 3A4 inhibitor medications, such as:
 
 
 
 
  • Medications that cause a certain change in the heart rhythm known as QT prolongation (see QT-Prolonging Medications for a list of such medications)
  • Natalizumab (Tysabri®)
  • Other chemotherapy (cancer) medicines 
  • P-glycoprotein inducers, such as:
 
 
  • P-glycoprotein inhibitors, such as:
