Pancreatic cancer is a type of cancer that occurs when malignant (cancerous) cells first form in the tissues of the pancreas. Although it is not yet known what causes it, smoking cigarettes and having diabetes may increase your risk for this disease. There are typically no early symptoms of pancreatic cancer. When symptoms do develop, they may include jaundice, unexplained weight loss, and fatigue. Possible treatment options may include certain medications, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.
