Tingling Side Effects of Oxaliplatin

There are some side effects of oxaliplatin (Eloxatin®) that may lead to potentially serious complications. For example, contact your healthcare provider right away if you are undergoing treatment with oxaliplatin and develop any side effects that may be associated with nerve problems, such as tingling in the hands, feet, mouth, or throat.

These types of nerve problems can occur as early as your first dose of oxaliplatin, or up to two days after you start the medication. Cold temperatures or objects can make these nerve problems works, so avoiding cold beverages and covering your skin before going outside in cold weather may help to minimize your nerve problems.
