Onsolis Safety Warning

What Are the Warnings on Onsolis Dosing?

The initial dose of Onsolis should be 200 mcg, even in people who are taking other medications that contain fentanyl. Doses of Onsolis should not be considered equal to doses of other fentanyl medications. In addition, Onsolis should not be substituted for any other fentanyl product, as doing so may result in an overdose and possibly death.

This medication should not be used more often than prescribed. Once a dose of Onsolis is used, at least two hours must pass before another dose can be used, even if the first dose did not adequately relieve the pain.

Are There Special Requirements for Receiving Onsolis?

Yes, because of the serious risks associated with improper Onsolis use, it is only available through a special program called the Focus™ Program. The Focus Program helps to reduce the risks associated with using this medication. Healthcare providers who prescribe Onsolis, pharmacies that dispense it, and people who use it must all be registered with the program. Your healthcare provider will help you with the registration process.
