Cancer and Mutamycin

Adults who have stomach or pancreatic cancer may receive Mutamycin® (mitomycin). This drug is prescribed when the cancer has not adequately responded to other chemotherapy treatment.
 
Mutamycin works by interfering with the way DNA replicates. Because cells need DNA to grow and divide, this medication can prevent the growth of cancer cells.
