Marinol Drug Interactions

Barbiturates, amphetamines, and tricyclic antidepressants are among the products that can cause drug interactions with Marinol. This may lead to an increased risk of side effects, some of which can be quite serious. Your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely to help prevent such problems if a certain drug combination cannot be avoided.

An Overview of Interactions With Marinol

 Marinol® (dronabinol) can react with other medications. Some of the drugs that might interact with Marinol include:
 
 
  • Barbiturates, such as:
     
    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)
 
  • Medications that cause drowsiness, such as:
