Who Should Not Use Onsolis?

You should avoid Onsolis if you:
 
  • Are allergic to it, to fentanyl, or to any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
 
  • Have not already been using a regularly scheduled opioid medication and are not opioid tolerant.
 
 
    • Acute pain (pain expected to last a short period)
    • Pain from surgery or other medical or dental procedures
    • Headaches or migraine pain
    • Pain in an emergency room.
 

Final Thoughts

There are a number of situations in which this medication should not be used, along with several safety concerns people should be aware of before beginning treatment.
