Make sure your healthcare provider knows if you drink alcohol or are taking any medications or supplements before beginning treatment with Nucynta ER. This pain reliever can interfere with several products, and may even lead to a dangerous group of symptoms called serotonin syndrome. Some of the drugs that can cause negative interactions with Nucynta ER include antidepressants, MAOIs, and sleep medications.

An Overview of Interactions With Nucynta ER

Nucynta® ER (tapentadol ER) may react with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that can lead to interactions with Nucynta ER include but are not limited to:
 
  • Alcohol
  • Anticholinergic medications, such as:
 
 
  • Linezolid (Zyvox®)
  • Medicines or substances likely to cause drowsiness, such as:
