Barbiturates
Combining a barbiturate with morphine sulfate ER can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may also occur. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking morphine sulfate ER with a barbiturate.
 
Benzodiazepines
Taking morphine sulfate ER in combination with a benzodiazepine might increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may also occur. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking morphine sulfate ER with any benzodiazepine.
 
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
Combining morphine sulfate ER with an MAOI can cause serious reactions. Do not use morphine sulfate ER and an MAOI within 14 days of each other.
 
Muscle Relaxants
Taking morphine sulfate ER with a muscle relaxant may increase the risk of side effects due to both medications. Check with your healthcare provider before combining morphine sulfate ER with a muscle relaxant.
 
Other Narcotics or Opiates
Use extreme caution when combining morphine sulfate ER with other narcotics or opiates, as serious side effects could occur. You should only use these medications together with your healthcare provider's approval and supervision.
 
Sleep Medications
