Most people who undergo chemotherapy treatment with ifosfamide (Ifex®) will develop some type of side effect. Extensive clinical trials have shown that some of the most commonly reported reactions to this drug include:
 
  • Hair loss
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Blood in the urine
  • Side effects affecting the central nervous system, such as confusion, changes in mood, and changes in behavior.
 
Some reactions to this medication are potentially dangerous and require immediate medical care. Contact your healthcare provider right away if you are receiving ifosfamide and develop a fever, confusion, or hallucinations.
