Cancer Home > Cetuximab

Dosing Information

The dose of cetuximab your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on:
  • The reason you are using it
  • Your height and weight
  • Other medications you are taking
  • How well you tolerate the medication.
As is always the case, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.
(Click Cetuximab Dosage for more information.)

Drug Interactions

This medication is not likely to react with other products (see Drug Interactions With Cetuximab).

What If I Overdose on Cetuximab?

It is not entirely clear what to expect from an overdose with cetuximab. Seek immediate medical attention if you or someone else may have overdosed on this medication.
(Click Erbitux Overdose for more information.)

How Should This Medication Be Stored?

Cetuximab should be stored refrigerated, but not frozen. Once prepared for use, it can be kept at room temperature for up to 8 hours or refrigerated for up to 12 hours. Any remaining medicine must be discarded after each dose. It cannot be saved for future use.
Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets.

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?

It is very important to keep your scheduled appointments to receive cetuximab. If you do happen to miss an appointment, contact your healthcare provider right away to reschedule.
