Cabazitaxel is prescribed to treat prostate cancer that has not responded adequately to other cancer treatments. It is administered intravenously once every three weeks and is used in combination with oral prednisone tablets. This medication can help stop cancer cells from growing and multiplying by interfering with certain structures in the cell. Side effects may include anemia and low white blood cells.
What Is Cabazitaxel?Cabazitaxel (Jevtana®) is a chemotherapy medication approved for the treatment of prostate cancer. Specifically, it is approved for use when certain other treatments have failed, and should be used in combination with prednisone.
Are There Side Effects?Just like any medicine, cabazitaxel can cause side effects. However, not everyone who receives the medication will have problems. In fact, some people tolerate it quite well, although most people will develop side effects.

- Leukopenia (low levels of a certain type of white blood cell called leukocytes)
- Neutropenia (low levels of a certain type of white blood cell called neutrophils).
