Busulfan injection is prescribed to prepare the body for a stem cell transplant. It helps destroy cancer cells in people who have a certain type of cancer called chronic myelogenous leukemia. After using busulfan injection, stem cells are given through an intravenous infusion, where they help replace the body's blood cells.
