Liver Cancer StatisticsWhen it comes to liver cancer, statistics can help provide a better understanding of the disease and its impact. The American Cancer Society estimated that 18,510 people would be diagnosed with liver cancer in the United States during 2006. According to liver cancer statistics, 1 out of 153 people born today will be diagnosed with liver cancer at some point in their lifetime. Other statistics concerning liver cancer indicate that the average age at which a person is diagnosed was 66 and the average age of death from liver cancer was 71 in 1998-2002.
