Liposomal Vincristine Side Effects

Common Side Effects

Liposomal vincristine has been studied extensively in clinical trials. In these studies, the side effects that occurred in people given liposomal vincristine were carefully documented. As a result, it was possible to see what side effects occurred and how often they appeared.
Based on these studies, possible liposomal vincristine side effects may include:
  • Constipation -- in up to 57 percent of people
  • Nausea -- up to 52 percent
  • Fever -- up to 43 percent
  • Fatigue -- up to 41 percent
  • Numbness, tingling, burning, or abnormal feelings in the arms, hands, legs, or feet -- up to 39 percent
  • Fever with low levels of a type of white blood cell known as neutrophils (see Chemotherapy and Infections) -- up to 38 percent
  • Diarrhea -- up to 37 percent
  • Anemia (low red blood cell counts) -- up to 34 percent (see Chemotherapy and Anemia)
  • Decreased appetite -- up to 33 percent
  • Insomnia -- up to 32 percent.

You may experience some or none of the liposomal vincristine side effects listed in this article. Unfortunately, there is no way for your healthcare provider to know beforehand if you will have problems with a medicine that you have never tried.
