Lazanda Drug Interactions

Lazanda Drug Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative reactions that can occur when Lazanda is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Alcohol
Consuming alcohol while using Lazanda could potentially increase your risk for serious side effects, such as extreme drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. You should not drink alcohol while using this medication.

CYP 3A4 Inducer Medications
The liver breaks down Lazanda using enzymes known as CYP 3A4 enzymes. Medications known as CYP 3A4 inducers can increase the activity of these enzymes. Combining Lazanda with one of these CYP 3A4 inducers may decrease the level of Lazanda in your bloodstream, potentially making it less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely if you take Lazanda with a CYP 3A4 inducer.

CYP 3A4 Inhibitor Medications
The liver breaks down Lazanda using enzymes known as CYP 3A4 enzymes. Medications known as CYP 3A4 inhibitors can decrease the activity of these enzymes. Combining Lazanda with one of these CYP 3A4 inhibitors may increase the level of Lazanda in your bloodstream to potentially unsafe levels. Your healthcare provider should monitor you more closely if you take Lazanda with a CYP 3A4 inhibitor.

Grapefruit Juice
Grapefruit juice may increase the amount of Lazanda in your blood, potentially increasing your risk for serious side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, and breathing problems. Talk to your healthcare provider before eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while you are using Lazanda.

Medications That Cause Drowsiness
Lazanda causes significant drowsiness. Taking other medications that cause drowsiness while using Lazanda may lead to serious side effects, such as extreme sedation, confusion, and serious breathing problems. Check with your healthcare provider before using Lazanda with other medications that can cause drowsiness.
