Irinotecan Trade Name

Sold under the trade name Camptosar®, irinotecan is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of colon or rectal cancer. This drug is specifically approved for use when the cancer has spread to other areas of the body (metastasized). It can be used alone or in combination with other chemotherapy drugs.
 
Camptosar is manufactured by Pharmacia & Upjohn Company, a division of Pfizer Inc. There are also generic versions of irinotecan available that are made by various companies, including Hospira, Inc., and Teva Parenteral.
 
The versions of irinotecan sold under the medication's trade name are available in the following strengths:
 
  • 40 mg per 2 mL single-use vials
  • 100 mg per 5 mL single-use vials
  • 300 mg per 15 mL single-use vials.
