Ipilimumab (Yervoy™) is a medication that is available by prescription only and helps slow down the progression of a dangerous form of skin cancer called melanoma. This drug is approved for use in adults where the disease has spread to other areas in the body and when surgery is no longer an option. Ipilimumab works by helping to increase the numbers of certain types of white blood cells that help to destroy cancer cells.
