For postmenopausal women who are receiving breast cancer treatment with fulvestrant, dosing is 250 mg, given once a month. This is the only dosage available and does not depend on the severity of the cancer, age, or weight. General Information on Fulvestrant Dosing
Considerations for women taking fulvestrant include the following:
- Fulvestrant injections are given once a month. Each dose is administered as one or two injections, given into the buttocks.
- Each dose contains a fairly large amount of liquid to be injected and must be injected very slowly.
- For the medication to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed. Fulvestrant will not work if you stop taking it.
- If you are unsure about anything related to fulvestrant or fulvestrant dosing, talk to your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. Do not stop taking the drug without discussing it with your healthcare provider.
