Fentora 400 Mcg

If you have breakthrough cancer pain, a healthcare provider may prescribe Fentora® (fentanyl buccal tablets) 400-mcg tablets. Your specific dosage, however, will be based on several factors, such as how you respond to Fentora, other medical conditions you have, and other medications you are taking.

The initial dose of Fentora for breakthrough pain in people who are not taking Actiq® (fentanyl lozenge) is 100 mcg. In people who are switching from Actiq, the initial Fentora dose will be based on the current Actiq dose, normally ranging from 100 mcg to 400 mcg of Fentora.

If your pain is not relieved after 30 minutes, you may take one more Fentora dose. However, do not take more than two doses for each breakthrough pain episode. After a maximum of two doses, you must wait at least four hours before using Fentora again.
