Drug Interactions With Dasatinib

QT-Prolonging Medications
Dasatinib can cause a certain change in the heart rhythm known as QT prolongation. Taking dasatinib with other medications that may cause QT prolongation can increase your risk for this potentially life-threatening problem. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you for this problem if you take dasatinib with another QT-prolonging medication.

Medications That "Thin" the Blood
Combining dasatinib with anticoagulant and antiplatelet medications can increase the risk for serious bleeding. You will need to be closely monitored if you take these medications together.

Natalizumab
Dasatinib should not be taken with natalizumab because of the increased risk for developing serious infections when these medications are taken together.

Pimecrolimus
In general, people taking dasatinib should not use pimecrolimus because of an increased risk for infection, lymphoma (cancer of the lymph nodes), and skin cancer. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medicines together.

Pimozide
Dasatinib may increase the amount of pimozide in your bloodstream, possibly increasing your risk for side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely if you take these medications together.

Proton Pump Inhibitors
In general, dasatinib should not be combined with any proton pump inhibitors. This is because proton pump inhibitors reduce the amount of dasatinib absorbed from the stomach into the bloodstream, which could make it less effective.

Sirolimus
Dasatinib may increase your sirolimus blood levels, which could increase your risk for sirolimus side effects. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medicines together.
