Dasatinib (
Sprycel®) is a prescription medication approved to treat certain
types of leukemia (cancer of the blood and bone marrow). Dasatinib belongs to a group of medicines known as
tyrosine kinase inhibitors.
Just like any medicine, dasatinib can cause side effects.
Although not everyone who takes the drug will have problems, most people will experience some type of side effect during treatment.
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are mild or moderate in severity and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
