Drug Interactions With Crizotinib

It is important for your healthcare provider to know if you are taking any products, including things like echinacea and St. John's wort, before beginning treatment with crizotinib. Products such as these can cause negative and even potentially life-threatening complications when combined with crizotinib. Certain antidepressants and blood pressure drugs are among the other products that may interfere with crizotinib.

An Overview of Crizotinib Interactions

Crizotinib (Xalkori®) may react with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that can interact with crizotinib include but are not limited to:

  • CYP 3A4 inhibitor medications, such as:
 
 
 
    • Bromocriptine (Parlodel®)
    • Dihydroergotamine (Migranal®)
    • Ergonovine
    • Ergotamine (Cafergot®, Ergomar®)
    • Methylergonovine (Methergine®)
    • Pergolide (Permax®)
 
 
  • P-glycoprotein inducers, such as:
 
    • Carbamazepine (Carbatrol®, Epitol®, Equetro®, Tegretol®)
    • Dexamethasone (Decadron®)
    • Doxorubicin (Adriamycin®, Doxil®)
    • Nefazodone (Serzone®)
    • Prazosin (Minipress®)
    • Rifampin (Rifadin®)
    • St. John's wort
    • Tipranavir (Aptivus®)
    • Trazodone (Desyrel®) and trazodone ER (Oleptro™)
    • Vinblastine
 
  • P-glycoprotein inhibitors, such as:
