What Is the Brand Name for Clofarabine?

Children and young adults who have acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) may receive clofarabine (Clolar®), a chemotherapy medication that is reserved for use when the cancer has not adequately responded to at least two other forms of treatment.
Brand-name clofarabine, which is sold under the name Clolar, is made by AAIPharma Services and Teva Pharmachemie for Genzyme Corporation. It is currently protected by patents that prevent companies from making a generic version of this drug. However, after the patents expire in July 2018, a generic clofarabine product may become available.
