CeeNU Drug Interactions

CeeNU Drug Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when CeeNU is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
Amphotericin B
Combining amphotericin B with chemotherapy medicines, including CeeNU, may increase the risk for amphotericin B side effects, such as kidney damage, low blood pressure (hypotension), and breathing problems. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely if you take these medicines together.
CeeNU may increase blood levels of aripiprazole, increasing the risk for side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of aripiprazole if you take these medicines together, although in many cases dose adjustments are not needed.
Certain Immunosuppressant Medicines
Taking CeeNU in combination with other medicines that suppress the immune system could increase your risk for potentially serious side effects, including low blood cell counts and infections. It is generally recommended that CeeNU not be used in combination with some of these medicines, while other combinations can be used with careful monitoring. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction if you are taking other immunosuppressant medicines.
Taking clozapine with CeeNU could increase your risk for dangerously low white blood cell counts, which could make you more susceptible to potentially serious infections. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medicines together. However, do not stop taking clozapine unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.
Echinacea may decrease the effectiveness of CeeNU. Do not take echinacea during CeeNU treatment without your healthcare provider's approval.
