Caphosol Drug Interactions
Caphosol® (supersaturated calcium phosphate rinse) is a prescription product used to treat a dry mouth or throat, known medically as xerostomia. It is also used in the treatment of mucositis (mouth sores) caused by chemotherapy or radiation.
Caphosol belongs to a group of products known as saliva substitutes. It is used as a mouth rinse. Like other saliva substitutes, Caphosol works by mimicking the actions of natural saliva.
At this time, no drugs are known to interact with Caphosol. However, you should always tell your healthcare provider about all medications -- including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, vitamins, and supplements -- you are taking. Even though there are no known drug interactions with Caphosol at this time, it is important to understand that this product has not been tested with all other medications. Therefore, there may be Caphosol drug interactions that are discovered in the future.
