Vincasar PFS Chemotherapy Information

As a type of chemotherapy treatment, Vincasar PFS® (vincristine sulfate) is prescribed to treat a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow called acute leukemia. It can also be used in combination with other anticancer drugs to treat other forms of cancer, such as Hodgkin's disease and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It is approved for use in adults, children, and infants.

It comes as an injection that is given into a vein (intravenously, by IV) once a week. Side effects are common and may include numbness, hair loss, and constipation.

If your healthcare provider recommends chemotherapy treatment with Vincasar PFS, he or she will need information on your medical history and any other medications, vitamins, or supplements you are using. You should also talk to your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or have any allergies.
