Triptorelin Drug Information

Although it's not a cure for prostate cancer, triptorelin pamoate (Trelstar®) can help ease symptoms of the disease. This long-acting hormone medication comes in the form of an injection that is given every one, three, or six months. It works by reducing testosterone levels within the body.
 
Triptorelin is not suitable for everyone. For instance, you may not be able to safely use this product if you have certain medical conditions, such as heart disease or diabetes, or if you are taking certain medicines. Before starting treatment with triptorelin, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information about any other medications you are taking, including nonprescription drugs and supplements.
