Temodar Chemotherapy Information

Temodar® (temozolomide) is a prescription drug used to treat the following types of brain tumors:
 
  • Glioblastoma multiforme
  • Anaplastic astrocytomas after certain other chemotherapy medicines have been unsuccessful.
  •  
Temodar comes as a capsule that is taken by mouth and an injection that is given slowly into a vein (an intravenous, or IV, infusion). Most people who use this drug will develop some type of side effect. Some of the most commonly reported problems include hair loss, nausea, and vomiting.
 
Before beginning chemotherapy treatment with Temodar, make sure to review the drug's safety information with your healthcare provider. For example, you may not be able to use this medicine if you have a seizure disorder, kidney disease, or certain other medical conditions. Also, this drug may react with many other medications.
