Revlimid Medication Information
Revlimid® (lenalidomide) is a drug used to treat certain bone marrow diseases, specifically multiple myeloma and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). It comes as a capsule that is taken once daily.
Although it is not exactly clear how this medicine works, it may help treat these bone marrow problems by altering the actions of the immune system, delaying the growth of abnormal cells involved in multiple myeloma and MDS. It also blocks the growth of blood vessels around the cancer cells, which prevents the cancer cells from getting the nutrition they need to grow.
Before taking Revlimid, make sure to review the safety information for the medication with your healthcare provider. For example, it may be dangerous to use this medicine if you are pregnant, lactose intolerant, or have certain problems with your kidneys or liver.
