Pancreatic Cancer Types

When cancer cells first form in the tissues of the pancreas, it is known as pancreatic cancer. The other type of pancreatic cancer is called pancreatic islet cell cancer, a condition that may begin in the endocrine pancreas. This part of the pancreas contains special cells called islet cells, which produce insulin and other hormones.
