Fentora Pain Medication Information

Available only with a prescription, Fentora® (fentanyl buccal tablets) is a drug used to control breakthrough pain in people who have cancer and are using an around-the-clock pain medicine. However, Fentora may not be suitable for some people; make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on other medications you are taking before using this product.

Fentora is also is a Schedule II "controlled substance," which means it has a very high potential for abuse. It may not be the best choice for someone who has a history of drug or alcohol abuse.

Fentora comes in the form of a tablet, which is dissolved in the mouth every four hours as needed for pain relief. Although most people tolerate it well, it can cause side effects, including dizziness, constipation, and nausea.
