Crizotinib Drug Information

Crizotinib (Xalkori®) is a medication prescribed for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer. The medication is only approved for use in adults age 18 and older. It comes in the form of a capsule and is typically taken twice daily. Side effects can include constipation, vomiting, and vision problems.
 
Crizotinib works by blocking the action of certain proteins in the body that cause the cancer cells to grow. Because not everyone should take this drug, information your healthcare provider needs before prescribing it includes a list of all medications you are taking and any other medical conditions you have, including problems with your liver, kidneys, or heart.
