Cladribine Drug Information

Cladribine (Leustatin®) is a chemotherapy medication used to treat hairy cell leukemia. It works to slow down the progression of the cancer by interfering with the replication process of DNA. This medicine also interferes with the ability of DNA to repair itself when damaged. These actions can slow down the growth of cancer cells, or even cause the cancer cells to die.
 
This drug is approved for use in adults only. Safety information on cladribine should be discussed with your healthcare provider before starting treatment to minimize your risk for certain complications. For instance, people who have problems with their kidneys or liver may not be able to safely use this medicine.
